Using Personal Touches for a Wedding that is Uniquely Yours
When it came to our Co-Founder Shannon’s wedding, she didn’t just want it to be pretty. She wanted it to be warm, personal and represent herself and her partner. To accomplish this, we incorporated personal touches in the small details of her day. Here are a few of the personal touches that made this wedding extra special:
As our in-house graphic designer, Shannon designed, cut and assembled her invitations to represent her design style and make a stunning first impression to her guests. She also had a custom bag created with her new last name and a memorial charm to have her late grandmother and father with her on her big day.
Shannon’s partner Chris really wanted to do something unexpected for his groomsmen gift. He ended up getting them each a new pair of sneakers in their personal style. They were shocked and thrilled of course!
For her dad’s seat at the ceremony, we placed his photo on the seat and designed this fabric sign that reads “You left me beautiful memories, your love is still my guide, and though I cannot see you, you’re always by my side. But I still wish you were here Dad”. It was a beautiful tribute to her father that made everyone teary-eyed.
Chris and Shannon have been playing Pokémon Go since 2016. As a nod to their favorite hobby, we put little figurines hidden in their arch for something cute and funny just for them to see during their ceremony.
We designed these stunning fabric bar signs with the drink menu and fun quotes. The other bar sign said “Drunk in Love” as a nod to Shannon’s Beyoncé obsession!
As another nod to her late grandmother, Shannon chose a classic Manhattan as her signature drink and names it “Nana June’s Manhattan”. It was famously her Nana’s favorite drink as she had one every night!
Their furry best friend couldn’t be there in person, so we had a custom dog figurine created and placed him at the cake, right where he would want to be! Shannon was so happy to see her dog she cried as soon as she saw it!
Last but not least, and probably the most personal of all, Shannon hand painted mini canvases on easels for each guest. She added names to the easels so they doubled as favors and seat assignments. She and Chris then hand wrote personal notes to each guest on the back of the canvases. Everyone took their favor home and really appreciated the time and sentiment that went into each.
These personal touches really elevated Shannon & Chris’s wedding for themselves and their guests. How can we incorporate personal touches into your special day?
