How To Plan A Wedding During Covid-19

The world is in a consistent state of the unknown but you're still ready and willing to plan your wedding? Okay, here’s what you need to know!

First, start off with knowing that everything will be okay! It may not be the big celebration you hoped for but it will still be the wedding of your dreams surrounded with love and the people you hold closest to you. Second, you're getting married! Relish in the joy that this time brings. Know that it’s okay to cry when you’re overwhelmed and stressed out. Third, join a bride group. It’s reassuring and comforting to talk to others that are going through the same situation as you. Your friends and family will listen but this group will understand how you feel, use it as an outlet to discuss anything you need to get off your chest.

Now, Down to the Nitty Gritty.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, group gatherings should be restricted to less than 50 people, while federal guidelines propose no more than 10. Check your local state pages for additional information. Maintain social distancing of at least 6ft and, if you can, host your wedding outside.

Communication is Key! Ensure you are communicating with your partner and you both are on the same page as to how to move forward with your micro-wedding or minimony. Discuss what is most important to you; guests, venue, location, or making it virtual so you can include everyone.

The Dress

A lot of dresses are made to order, unless you are lucky enough to find one off the rack. You want to give yourself enough time for alterations. So round up the people that you want giving an opinion on your dress, get your mask on and go find that dress that makes you fall in love all over again. If in-store shopping is not an option for you, get online and see if you can find a boutique close to you that is offering virtual shopping experiences.

Wedding Registry

You deserve nice things too! Do the fun stuff and create your wedding registry at home with your partner. Break out the bubbly, go to your favorite sites and start to add all the things you’d never buy yourself. Trust me, you’ll thank me later. This ranks in top 5 from my wedding experience. That Martha Stewart crock pot comes in handy!

Vendors

Just because it’s a micro-wedding doesn’t mean it can’t look amazing! Look for wedding inspiration online, narrow down your colors, floral designs, hair and make-up you like etc. Decide if you want a planner to help or if you will do it yourself. Reach out to the vendors you love and would want to be a part of your day. Be realistic with your budget - have one in mind and try to stick to it. A lot of vendors are providing contactless options for set-up or just drop-off if you think you can do it yourself. Whether you decide to take this on yourself or hire someone to help you through this already stressful process, good luck - you got this!

But, why take on the hassle when it’s your day? Instead, hire a planner who will help you plan and execute — someone like us at Thirty4thStreet Productions! To arrange a free consultation, click here.
